Puerto Piramides, Chubut - Argentina.
Puerto Pirámides is in Peninsula Valdes, to the Northeast of Chubut. This Patagonian place contrasts with the waters of the Atlantic.
Peninsula Valdes, declared Patrimonio Natural de la Humanidad in 1999, is a thin piece of land of 35 km, with arid ground and the bigger salt resource in South America. Its ecologic characteristics are the perfect scenery for the singular fauna richness.
It is the chosen place by the whales for their reproduction and birth. Every year, from June to December, we can watch these incredible animals in a unique show. Moreover, the killer whales arrive frequently between February and May to these beaches, and the dolphins can be admired at any time.

In this paradise like natural scenery, 27kms from the isthmus Carlos Ameghino, we can find Puerto Piramides, a town that has crystalline waters and rustic landscapes. Its beaches are protected by soft cliffs that share their shape with that of the Piramids. In these formations a great amount of 9 million-year fossils have been found.

Puerto Piramides is the only stable town in Peninsula Valdes. It receives thousands of tourists during the year to show them its natural monument: the franc-austral whale. It has the needed establishments to receive the tourists that look for adventure and the contact with nature. Besides the whales, you can do diving, windsurfing, fishing, trekking, mountain bike and sand boarding.

With a dry weather, the rains reach the 200 millimeters per year. In winter, the days offer 15ºc, which descend at night. However, in spring and summer the days are of 20 and 40º, while at night the temperature is 20 to 25ºc.

From Buenos Aires there are regular flights to Puerto Madryn city and from there a transportation service takes off to Puerto Piramides. By land you can have access taking the national road 3.

Peninsula Valdes is a protected area, and you have to pay $10 (the native adults) and $35 the foreigners (Argentinian pesos)
